Important Dates for Div.3 for the week of Oct. 21
Monday, Oct. 21- Walking to Uvic for Physical Education activities in the morning.
Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24- Parent-teacher interviews. School is dismissed at 11:51am on both days.
Friday, Oct. 25-Pro-d day. No School for students.
Tuesday, Oct. 29- Photo re-take day.
Math
Our class has now completed two units in Math. One on Whole Numbers and more recently a unit on Number Patterns. The class has started a new unit on Data Analysis.
Language Arts
The class will soon be finishing their work for, " An Elephant in the Garden". Students are responsible for completing a comprehensive booklet and a project on elephants or World War 2. Due dates for these two items will be published in next week's blog. Our goal is complete all of our work for this book by early November.

Healthy Choices Project
Students have started on a project that focuses on our Health component for grade 6. The due date for this project will be sometime in mid November. Date to be determined in the near future. Please check with your child that they have started on this project. I am providing some time at school for this project but some students will need to do some of this project at home. Please contact me if you have questions about this project. I have provided the students with a criteria/ list sheet for them to refer to. Most students are working on this project in partners or in a group of three.
Elephant in the Garden Project
Students have started on a project on World War 2 or Elephants as part of their Novel Studies. This project will be due Monday, November 4th. Most students are using google slides to present and collect their work. A criteria sheet has been provided for this project. Again, most students are working in pairs or groups of three. Some students are on their own also. Please contact me if you have questions about this project.
